Life is tenuous, beautiful and brittle,
yet never cowers in the presence of death.
It lives within chaos and substance;
the harrowing and the harmony.
Life will not bend to material needs,
parading in the graceful unknown.
For once death returns
with his shifting right hand,
life will amuse his persistence,
making years and sweet memories
from the seconds in play.
