Some soothsayer told you it was me.
Had to be. You’d know
by the constellation of moles on my neck
or the shape of my friendliness.
He found me for you under a tarot deck.
In this lifetime, I fit in the palm of your hand.
The Magician, the Empress.
You drew us both, predicting your own sorcery
and my compassion. When I unveiled
your sleight of hand, the lovers
slipped out in reverse.
